Q&A with Justin Anthony, Silverlake Resources’ Deflector Operations

“If you’re running Pronto without SWM, do yourself a favour and implement it”

Q&A with Justin Anthony, Maintenance Superintendent at Silverlake Resources’ Deflector Operations

Silverlake Resources’ Deflector Operations, located in the southern Murchison region of WA is a shallow narrow vein, high-grade gold and copper underground mine with an onsite fit-for-purpose processing facility.

In December 2023, following three days of training, the operation installed Schedule Work Mate. Maintenance Superintendent Justin Anthony spoke to us on that impact SWM has had.

Q: How did you learn of SWM and what were the factors that made you decide to implement the platform?

JA: I’ve used SWM on a previous site, so when I started at Deflector it was high on the list of improvements that were required to streamline the weekly scheduling function.

QA: What efficiency or productivity gains have you experienced since installing SWM and/or what pain points has it resolved? What have these improvements meant for the maintenance planning team?

JA: Scheduling time has reduced by at least 25%. KPIs are readily available in SWM so this makes identifying issues and implementing improvements quick and easy.

QA: What kind of impact has SWM had on the broader operations of the project?

JA: Since installing SWM, we are now able to show production our KPIs and targets in a simple visual format.

QA: What would you say to maintenance teams currently using Pronto but not using SWM?

JA: If you’re running Pronto without SWM, do yourself a favour and implement it to improve your maintenance work management practices.
